1. Take a look at the consumer sites listed above. Search for a couple of items of interest and see what the selling pages look like. Write in your blog what your thoughts are these sites. Which one(s) do you like the best/least? Have you already used one of the sites to buy or sell an item? What was your experience like? If you haven’t could you see yourself using these sites to buy or sell something?
I have bought a few things off of Ebay, but only small price items and only from sellers with good ratings. I only use paypal as a payment method. I have also bough a few textbooks off of half.com. I tried selling one item there but it didn't get any notice. I haven't really found time to try again. I like the fact that with these sites you can find that one replacement item for something that you have lost or broken. It worked for my earrings!
I haven't ventured into craigslist yet but hat's how Ben found his motorcycle (through a small business). And I have at least looked at the other sellers on Amazon.
2. Visit PayPal and watch the short clip titled "What is PayPal?" Blog about ways you could personally use PayPal. Check your favorite online stores to see if they accept this method of payment. If you already use this service, blog about your experience.
I have been using Paypal for several years now. It makes it easier to buy from small merchants or individuals. And any online purchase become more secure. I have had nothing but good experiences with Paypal.
