1. Try out the symptom checker or the pill identifier. Write in general terms about how accurate the results seemed to be.
Symptom Checker- even with relatively simple symptoms it gave good descriptions of possible causes and possible medications. Blake has had chronic nasal issues which only become serious if an infection forms. While he's healthy it's just an annoyance. You never want to see your children sick. We are always trying new options to prevent & treat and it is nice to be informed about options.
2. Pick any medical condition or service and use the local MedlinePlus to see if there are related resources within 10 miles of your home. List what you found.
First. Medline plus isn't even mentioned in this post is it? Luckily I knew where to find it in HCPL's list of databases! And how do you figure out who is with in 10 miles of your home. It seems like this part of the blog might have been left out!
3. Create a sample family medical history tree. Discuss how this could this be a useful addition to a genealogy study.
Tracking medical history can be useful in determining risk factors for certain diseases. Having a family history of diabetes increases your probability of getting it as well. Knowing who had what allows you to be an advocate for your own health as well as allowing your doctors a history to take into consideration for your health.
